Finally, the much-awaited Nothing Ear (3) is confirmed to be official soon. After keeping things quiet for a few months, the UK-based tech brand is back in the news, this time teasing its next audio product: the Nothing Ear (3).
The company hasn’t announced an official launch date yet, but a recent teaser shared on X (formerly Twitter) gives us our first look at what’s coming. As usual, Nothing hasn’t revealed much, but just a glimpse of what looks like part of the stem or charging case. However, based on the previous trends, the launch could be just around the corner.
Nothing has had a slightly confusing naming pattern over the years. After the Ear (1) and Ear (2), we got the plain “Nothing Ear” and a budget version called Ear (a) in April 2024. Now, the company seems to be going back to its original style, calling the upcoming earbuds “Nothing Ear (3).”
In a community post, the company mentioned that the switch back to numbers was based on user feedback. Basically, people wanted something simple.
One interesting hint came from an earlier teaser that said “Materially different.” Although there is no certainty what that means yet, but it could suggest changes in build quality or a new material being used for the earbuds or charging case. The previous models were made using polycarbonate, which gave them a lightweight and transparent look. Maybe Ear (3) is taking a new direction.
While the specifications and features are still unknown, but there’s talk that Ear (3) may bring noticeable upgrades over Ear (2), which already had 11.6mm drivers, active noise cancellation up to 40dB, AI microphones, and a 36-hour battery life with the case.
Although the company hasn’t shared a date, Nothing usually doesn’t keep fans waiting too long after teasing a product. And given that the last earbuds dropped in April, an October launch window wouldn’t be surprising.
