MediaTek has finally introduced its new chipset, dubbed Dimensity 9500, with powerful features and enhancements. The chipset is launched with an aim to define performance benchmarks for smartphones. As per the company, MediaTek Dimensity 9500 is designed to deliver enhanced AI capabilities and a superior gaming experience alongside remarkable power efficiency. The new Dimensity 9500 chipset positions itself as a direct competitor to other high-end solutions in the market.
Talking about the features, the new Dimensity 9500 is equipped with an octa-core design with a single Arm C1-Ultra core clocked at 4.21GHz, three C1-Premium cores, and four C1-Pro cores. As per the company, this configuration is included to offer 32% higher single-core performance. In addition, it will also offer 17% improved multi-core performance as compared to the Dimensity 9400.
Other than this, the processor also supports Armv9.3 with SME2 instructions, boosting AI perception and machine learning efficiency.
The Dimensity 9500 is powered by the Arm G1-Ultra GPU, providing 33% higher peak performance and 42% better power efficiency. It also promises up to 12% faster ray tracing performance and supports 120fps ray-traced gaming along with interpolation.
The tech giant also ensures that the new chipset will be compatible with Vulkan’s ray tracing pipeline and Unreal Engine 5 features like MegaLights and Nanite.
The Dimensity 9500 includes the Generative AI Engine 2.0, which allows it to offer double the compute power of its predecessors. It is also equipped with the BitNet 1.58-bit large model processing, allowing users to experience faster outputs for 3 billion-parameter LLMs. Additionally, it will also deliver 128K token processing and 4K image generation.
For the camera, the processor includes the Imagiq 1190 ISP, enabling RAW-domain pre-processing for up to 200MP capture with 30fps continuous focus tracking and 4K 60fps portrait video recording.
The chipset also incorporates MiraVision Adaptive Display for smoother visuals. On connectivity, the Dimensity 9500 offers 10% lower power consumption in 5G, 20% lower in Wi-Fi scenarios, and 15% higher bandwidth through 5CC carrier aggregation. AI-driven network selection improves accuracy by 20% and reduces latency by 50%.
The Dimensity 9500 will power upcoming flagship smartphones, including the Oppo Find X9 Pro and Vivo X300, and will directly compete with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
