
This week, Apple named the Indian-origin Kevan Parekh its chief financial officer (CFO). Parekh will replace the Luca Maestri. Notably, Maestri has been a CFO at Apple since 2024 and will be transitioning to another profile in the company on Jan 1, 2025.
While Maestri has been in the position for a decade, who’s this new India-origin Kevan Parekh succeeding him? Well, Parekh has been with Apple for more than 10 years. He is currently the Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis at Apple.
Kevan Parekh joined Apple back in 2013 in the Finance and Product Marketing division.
Parekh is currently the Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis. As per his LinkedIn profile, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Engineering at the University of Michigan and then wrapped up his MBA at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
He worked at General Motors initially and then joined Thomson Reuters as Vice President of Finance in the Professional Division. He was promoted to Corporate Treasurer at the same firm. Four years after working at Thomson Reuters, he joined Apple back in 2013.
Having said that, he has been working with Apple for 11 years in the aforesaid division. He will be taking over the chief financial officer position, replacing Luca Maestri as mentioned above.
“For more than a decade, Kevan has been an indispensable member of Apple’s finance leadership team, and he understands the company inside and out. His sharp intellect, wise judgement, and financial brilliance make him the perfect choice to be Apple’s next CFO,” noted Apple in its press release.
Meanwhile, Maestri will lead the corporate services teams, including information systems and technology, information security and real estate and development. He will report to CEO Tim Cook.
