Google rolls out new AI features like Project Astra-powered camera and screen-sharing capabilities in Gemini. Project Astra was launched by Google which is an experimental initiative capable of understanding and interacting real-time text, speech, images, and video. It is a multimodal AI assistant that was first introduced in 2024 by Google.
Project Astra leverages Google’s advanced AI models, such as Gemini 2.0, to process diverse inputs and provide contextually relevant responses. A reddit user posted a video explaining how he has received the latest features on its Xiaomi smartphone and what are the things it can perform. The user also posted a video explaining Gemini’s new-screen reading ability and other features.

Google blog post reads, “Gemini can already help you brainstorm ideas, do deep research and generate content for whatever project you’re working on. And starting today, Gemini can offer even more help, whether it’s editing a document with you in real time or taking your idea and coding a real prototype.”
Additionally, the user who posted the video can be seen having hold of the new real-time camera capabilities that allows you to interact with the world. He showed that how user will be able to access the full capabilities of Gemini Live interface and can start a video stream with the help of these new AI features in Gemini.
As per Google, Astra will be available to Gemini’s advanced subscribers. The starting price of the subscription will be $19.99 per month. To recall, the tech giant announced that the new Astra features in Gemini will be first available to Pixel and Galaxy S25 users worldwide.
