As far as details are concerned, reports suggest that Google could walk on Apple’s steps and launch four Pixel 9 models — Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Google could offer these phones in four colour variants — Black, White, Green and Pink. The Pixel 9 series phones will be powered by the Tensor G4 chipset and run the company’s upcoming Android 15 mobile OS.
As far as other details are concerned, the standard Pixel 9 will come with a 6.03-inch display, while the Pixel 9 Pro devices will be available in 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch sizes. It is also expected to come with upgraded cameras and more on-device camera capabilities.
Android 15
While Google didn’t explicitly mention Android 15, it did say that it will elaborate on Android updates in its post on X. Google typically announces the new Android version at Google I/O and then rolls out the newest Android version in August. This year, the company took a detour from this trend by releasing a public beta version of Android 15 at Google I/O 2024. Now, the company’s latest tweet shows that Google is planning to launch the new Pixel devices and the OS running them at the same time.
Pixel Watch 3
Google is also expected to launch the Pixel Watch 3 at the event. Reports suggest that Google will not make any major changes to the overall design of the Pixel Watch and go for the 41mm and 45mm variants this year as well, which is the same as last year. Google is also expected to launch the watch with Wear OS 5. On the feature front, the Pixel Watch 3 is expected to borrow features from Fitbit’s suite of health tracking features. It is also tipped to get a slightly bigger battery.
