Google has finally unveiled its one of the most significant upgrades. to its AI model and launched Gemini 2.0. The tech giant informed about the launch details via its blog post on Wednesday. Google kicked off its experimental version of the Gemini 2.0 which was Gemini 2.0 Flash in December with few updates for developers. The experimental version was equipped with low latency and enhanced performance. The tech giant artificial intelligence research laboratory announced the availability of the Gemini 2.0 for developers and regular users.
The company said in its blog post that it updated its Gemini 2.0 Flash to all the users of Gemini app last week on desktop and mobile. The update help developers and users with how to create, interact, and collaborate with Gemini.
Today we’re expanding the Gemini 2.0 family with new options and broader availability.

The Gemini 2.0 is available via the Gemini API in Google AI Studio and Vertex AI. Additionally, developers will be able to now build production applications with 2.0 Flash. The company also mentioned about that its releasing an experimental version of Gemini 2.0 Pro which is tech giant’s best model for coding. This will also be available in the Google AI Studio, Vertex AI, and Gemini app.
In addition, Google is also releasing its new cost-efficient model in a public preview dubbed Gemini 2.0 Flash-Lite in the above-mentioned Studio and Vertex AI. The launch of the Gemini 2.0 is a response to the growing popularity of DeepSeek which caused a stir in the past few weeks. DeepSeek is a Chinese AI startup that has been making waves that are actually matching or in some cases surpassing the performance of the top AI models available in the market right now. However, several countries are banning the app including Australia, the US, Italy, Taiwan, and more.
