The 6th edition of the Global Fintech Fest 2025 is wrapping today, 9 October 2025 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The event is organized by the Payments Council of India (PCI), National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), and Fintech Convergence Council (FCC).
It was a three day event, covering everything about Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, Innovation, Inclusion and more. The main theme of the event was ‘Empowering Finance for a Better World – Powered by AI: Augmented Intelligence | Innovation | Inclusion’
The Global Fintech Fest 2025 was inaugurated by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The keynote was delivered by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Both leaders interacted and engaged with innovators, industry xperts, and policymakers. The interaction was mainly focu on the role of international collaboration in fintech development.
The event witnessed a large scale expo, with over 400 exhibitors, showcasing their latest technologies and innovations. Attendees participated in the workshops, hackathons, investment pitches, and more.
There were more than 100,000 visitors and 7,500 participating companies, GFF 2025 offered a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and exposure to cutting-edge solutions.
A major highlight was the Bharat AI Experience Zone, organized by NPCI and NVIDIA, allowing participants to explore the applications of artificial intelligence in financial services.
One of the main highlight of the event was RBI introducing four new digital payment initiatives. These initiatives include IoT-based UPI payments, interoperable net banking, UPI Reserve Pay, and AI-powered UPI Help. The last, AI-Powered UPI Help is using Small Language Model in its system.
Additionally, biometric authentication for UPI payments and face-based authentication via UIDAI simplified onboarding and removed the need for debit cards to set UPI PINs.
