The trend for foldable device is gaining popularity and traction in recent years with several tech companies coming to the forefront with their foldable products. Keeping this trend in mind, Apple is also planning to push its boundaries of what foldable smartphones and tablets can do. We can’t deny the fact that Apple keeps itself a key player in the tech space and now its move into the foldable segment is something that tech enthusiasts already speculated.

Apple Foldable iPhone and iPad:

There has been both excitement and curiosity among Apple enthusiasts for the foldable iphone and ipad. Analyst Jeff Pu recently revealed that Apple is planning for the mass production of its upcoming foldable iPhone and iPad. The tech giant might start the mass production in the second half of the 2026. Pu shared a search note with the investment firm GF Securities and mentioned that Apple is planning to include two foldable devices including an iphone with 7.8-inch inner display and larger foldable device with an 18.9-inch display.

In the search note, Pu reportedly highlighted multiple stages of mass production including designing, engineering, prototyping, and manufacturing. He then mentioned that Apple is reportedly to reach the prototyping stage in April this year. Other rumors about the foldable iPhone in the past have revealed that Apple might integrate transmitter and receiver components that is used for biometric authentication for the under-display Face ID setup.

As per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is coming up with design changes with iOS 19 and macOS 16.

Foldable iPhone Price (Rumored):

Talking about the pricing of the foldable iPhone, Analyst Tim Long of the British bank Barclays reported that the price of the foldable iPhone would be somewhere around $2,300, meaning it would cost twice as much as the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Obviously, with different storage capabilities, the price would increase.
