Google is finally rolling out native call recording to Pixel phones across the globe — a feature Pixel users have been requesting for years. The update is now reaching supported devices through the latest Phone by Google app update and the November Pixel Feature Drop. The first time you record a call, you’ll see an explainer about Google’s handling of recordings and the required notification sent to the other party.
Interestingly, many Android phones using the Google Phone app have had call recording for years. But Pixel models-ironically, Google’s own phones-were left out.
That gap is finally closing. The rollout now makes call recording available on every supported Pixel starting from the Pixel 6, catching up with features already available on other Android devices.
Google is also expanding Call Notes, which now works internationally on Pixel 9 and newer models in regions like Australia, Canada, the U.K., Ireland, and Japan. The feature even integrates with Android Auto, making it easier to save important details without taking your hands off the wheel.
