Apple’s highly anticipated WWDC is just around the corner and fans & media are eagerly waiting for a glimpse into the company’s software future. However, things feel a little different this year and hence it seems that the tech giant is taking a slower and more calculated approach. As per recent reports, the Cupertino-based tech giant is likely to showcase any headline-grabbing AI announcements during its developer conference.
As per report, the WWDC 2025 is set up to be held between 9 June to 13 June. While much of tech world is sprinting toward brining and showcasing lots of generative AI breakthroughs, however, Apple might take it slow and the reason for this may be that many of the AI features from Apple’s side are reportedly still in development. They might not be able or refined enough to promise within the iOS, macOS, or other upcoming updates.
One of the biggest highlight of the Apple’s yearly event could be the major overhaul coming to its iOS. The company is expected to bring iOS 26 with cleaner and more modern interface. This might be inspired by the look and feel of visionOS. We can expect refreshed icons, smooth animations, and better consistency across all apps. The name jump that we are seeing from iOS 17 to iOS 26 signifies that Apple is meant to align its iOS with other platforms.
Talking about the Mac, the macOS 26 is reportedly codenamed as ‘Tahoe’ and it is expected to bring some of the best and major design changes. However, if we recall, then macOS updates are less flashy and hence it is expected to bring out smooth experience and cohesive feel between your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
It seems Apple is not rushing to join the race of AI, at least not yet. We can expect a few AI related updates at WWDC 2025 including revamped shortcuts app, but as per report, we can’t expect Apple to bring to the forefront the ChatGPT rival or dramatic Siri transformation. The company might be saving all these updates for the future.
That said, Apple isn’t entirely stepping away from AI, rather it is majorly focusing on its unfinished features or light-weight AI tools for its developers.
