The Skier would have probably frozen to his death if it Apple Watch had not alerted the authorities that he had fallen into the 1000 feet down.

The video showcases how rescuers are saving the life of a skier who fell 1000 foot fall in the freezing temperatures. The skier would have died if his watch had not alerted his location. The post reads, “On 1/22/2025 the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance for an Apple Watch SOS alert from a backcountry skier near Steven’s Pass. The only information was that a male skier fell about 1,000 feet and sustained a leg injury. Rescue Specialists with the King County Sheriff’s Air Support Unit responded just after sunset.”
