Apple has geared itself to load its 2025 with several new products. The tech giant has plans to welcome its 11th-generation iPad which is expected to be released in the early months of 2025. The model is said to be more powerful than its previous models. However a new report hints towards launching the product with an old chipset instead of the latest A18 processor. The iPad 11th gen is expected to feature the same A17 Pro chipset that was used in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

As per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple’s entry-level iPad will run on the A17 Pro chipset launching this spring. Gurman mentioned in his weekly Power On Newsletter the details of the product coming up with the old chipset. The purported iPad 11th generation might have some features from Apple Intelligence including Image Playground, Genmoji, the all-new Siri, ChatGPT, and more. The next-gen entry-level iPad will be equipped with new connectivity options, including Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6E Wi-Fi 7, and some more.

The upcoming 11th-generation iPad is not expected to have major design changes as compared to its old model 10. To recall, the previous iPad model launched in October 2022, but it might be possible that Apple may switch things up this time and release its new iPad in Spring 2025. Additionally, the company is also expected to unveil its 4th gen iPhone SE at an Apple event in March or April.

As per Mark Gurman:

“The new iPad Air models — codenamed J607 and J637 — will focus on internal improvements. Apple also is preparing an updated version of its Magic Keyboard accessory, codenamed R307 and R308, for both the 11-inch and 13-inch versions of the new Air. These will bring some of the features of the iPad Pro keyboard down-market.”

The tech journalist mentions that Apple was expected to stay away from the A17 chipset for its upcoming iPad due to the issues reported in the past. To recall, the A17 Pro chipset was the first chip to use the first-generation 3nm process. But the chipset had its downside too with low yields, cost, and not giving an expected performance as compared to its predecessors.

iPad 11th Gen Price:

The base variant iPad is available at Rs 34900 for the 64GB and Rs 49900 for 256 GB. The iPad Air and iPad Mini are available at starting prices of Rs 59900 and Rs 49900 respectively. However, the iPad Pro costs Rs 99900 for 28.22-inch and Rs 129900 for 33.02-inch. We can expect the imminent iPad 11th gen with the same price tags in India. Nothing is confirmed as of now, but we can see the updated version from the predecessors.
