Apple is getting ready to bring out its next big product – the iPad Pro with the new M5 chip. The launch is yet to be made official, but an unboxing video has already surfaced online, giving us an early look. From the outside, it doesn’t seem too different from the current M4 iPad Pro. The slim aluminium frame is still there, along with a single rear camera and a front-facing one. Interestingly, the usual “iPad Pro” branding on the back is missing in this version. While the design hasn’t shifted much, reports suggest Apple may add a second front-facing camera to improve video calls in both portrait and landscape orientations. The leaked unit shown in the video features a 13-inch display, paired with 256GB of storage. It comes in a black (or Space Black) finish and ships with a 45W charger, which is an upgrade from the 20W adapter included with the previous model. The retail packaging doesn’t reveal much, but it largely resembles the M4 iPad Pro’s box. The tablet shown in the video was running iPadOS 26.0, and its battery carried an August 2025 manufacturing date.
What makes the M5 iPad Pro stand out is its performance jump over the M4 version. According to Geekbench 6 tests shown in the leak, the M5 model houses a nine-core CPU (three performance cores and six efficiency cores). It scored around 4,133 in single-core and 15,437 in multi-core benchmarks, compared to 3,748 and 13,428 from the M4. This translates to roughly a 10–15 percent CPU boost. On the graphics side, early tests suggest up to 35 percent better GPU performance, making it more capable for demanding apps and creative workflows. The leaked model also reportedly carries 12GB of RAM for the 256GB variant, which is an increase from the 8GB seen in the M4 version.
Alongside the iPad Pro M5, Apple is also rumoured to unveil the AirTag 2 later this month. If the leaks hold true, you can expect more internal upgrades rather than a dramatic redesign.
