WWDC 2025 is around the corner and while all eyes are on iOS 19 and Apple’s AI push, some big changes might be coming to your AirPods too. Some leaks hint at AirPods Pro 2 and the upcoming AirPods 4 could soon offer head gesture controls, hands-free photo snapping, and even sleep detection. New Rumoured AirPods Features

According to a new report from 9to5Mac, Apple is testing five new AirPods features. These features could be announced at WWDC 2025 alongside iOS 19 or a future firmware update. One of the most advanced features is head gestures, that would make the Airpods really functional. Apple already introduced nod to answer and shake to decline features last year.  news Also Read: Apple Lands In Legal Trouble As Authors Claim Apple Intelligence Was Trained On Their Books

Apple has also worked on some cool features like sleep detection that will understand if the user is falling asleep and could automatically pause your content. This is perfect for bedtime podcasts or those late-night playlists. Apple is also said to be working on a new audio mix system. This will separate speech from background noise, giving some new modes like: In-frame, Studio, and Cinematic voice.

Lastly, Apple is expected to improve the multi-user AirPods pairing experience on iPads, especially for shared environments like classrooms. This means fewer steps and faster switches between devices.

When Will These Features Arrive?

Most of these features are expected to be showcased at WWDC on June 9 and may be released via iOS 19. So, whether you are rocking AirPods Pro 2 or waiting on the AirPods 4, these upgrades could make your experience better and make Airpods a more functional device.
