Xiaomi appears to be preparing its first tri-fold smartphone, as a new device has been spotted on an international certification website. The handset, believed to be called the Xiaomi Mix Trifold, is expected to mark the company’s entry into the multi-fold segment. The phone is said to be in development for a 2026 launch and could take on Samsung’s new Galaxy Z TriFold and Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate Design. A report from XiaomiTime states that a Xiaomi device with the model number 2608BPX34C has been listed on the GSMA certification website. The listing does not reveal specifications, but it indicates that Xiaomi is working on a foldable that can bend in more than one direction. If the device launches as reported, it will be Xiaomi’s first tri-fold smartphone. Also Read: 6 best AI-powered smartphones to buy in January 2026
The Mix Trifold is rumoured to be unveiled in Q3 2026. As of now, details such as its display size, hinge design, chipset, and battery capacity remain unknown. Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the phone’s existence.
The certification sighting comes shortly after Samsung announced its first tri-fold phone, the Galaxy Z TriFold, which goes on sale in South Korea next week. Samsung’s model features a 10-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display on the inside, a 6.5-inch cover screen, and runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It also offers up to 16GB RAM, 1TB storage, and a 5,600mAh battery with both wired and wireless fast charging.
Huawei is also in the race. The Mate XT Ultimate Design features a 10.2-inch LTPO OLED folding display and a 6.4-inch outer OLED panel. It runs HarmonyOS 4, is powered by the Kirin 9010 chip, and includes up to 16GB RAM, 1TB storage, and a 5,600mAh battery with faster charging support than Samsung’s model.
With major brands already moving into the tri-fold category, Xiaomi’s Mix Trifold could emerge as another option once it officially enters the market.
