Xiaomi 17 Ultra: What to Expect

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to bring several major upgrades, as it is tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. In terms of design, it’s still unclear whether Xiaomi will retain the secondary rear display seen on the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. Both devices introduced a small rear screen for quick selfies and notifications.

Talking about the cameras, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is rumoured to feature a new 50MP main sensor, a 200MP telephoto macro camera, along with an ultrawide lens and possibly a short-range telephoto shooter.

Under the hood, the 17 Ultra is expected to pack a large battery – likely close to 7,500mAh – with support for 100W fast wired charging. While Xiaomi hasn’t shared details yet, these specifications align with what we’ve seen on the company’s recent premium models.

If Xiaomi does launch the 17 Ultra in December, it could not only beat Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra to the market but also kick off 2026’s flagship race early. One thing’s for sure – the battle for the Android crown is about to heat up once again.
