Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 8 beta program to more smartphones. Not, it’s 2023 flagship devices, the Galaxy S23 series, along with some of its popular mid-range phones, are getting the One UI 8 beta program. The update is based on Android 16 and comes with a massive 3.1GB download size, a tipster suggested in a post on X. Also Read: Diwali Sale Feast! The beta is now available for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. On the mid-range side, models like the Galaxy A55, A54, and A35 are also included in the rollout. While Samsung had previously announced support for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, their builds haven’t gone live yet. For now, the beta is only live in India. If you’re interested, you’ll need to sign up through the Samsung Members app to participate. In the US, the program will likely be limited to unlocked S23 units, while mid-rangers should get access more widely once the rollout expands. One UI 8 brings a mix of visual tweaks and functional improvements. For example, Quick Share gets a redesign with a cleaner and a full-screen view for easier file sharing. The split-screen also gets a better multi-tasking option with smoother transitions.
Apps are getting revamped too, such as Samsung Internet, Reminders, Contacts, Health, and more. The smarter file sorting option lets you filter downloads by the app you got them from. The update also includes the September 2025 security patch, making sure your device stays up to date on protection as well as features.
However, the thing to keep in mind is that if you install the beta, your apps and data should remain safe. However, if you decide to roll back to One UI 7, your phone will be reset, wiping all data in the process. Backing up your files before installing is a good idea.
