Samsung has already sent out invites to its upcoming big foldable event that will take place on July 9, but this time, there are more products than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. It is believed that a third and less expensive member will be added in the lineup, this one is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. It seems that this new device can be considered as the attempt of Samsung to make foldable tech available to more people without losing the contemporary features.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z series has typically represented the cutting edge of smartphone design, but it also comes with a premium price tag. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE seems poised to change that. The naming of the FE model, which is short for Fan Edition, is not the first time that Samsung has applied it to budget entry-level models of its flagship devices, this time round, this will be the first time it applies the naming to its foldable devices.
The global variant of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE has recently been spotted on Geekbench, carrying the model number SM-F761B. Oddly enough, this one has the chip-set of Samsung Exynos 2400, a 10-core processor with a speed of 3.21GHz. Another confirmation of the high orientation of its performance is the presence of the Samsung Xclipse 940 GPU in its listing as well.
These specs indicate that although the Flip 7 FE is going to be a cheaper alternative, it will not feature in the comparison with a slower day-to-day or graphical performance. In the Geekbench, the device got 1940 points in single-core testing and 6136 in multi-core, a score which mixes the device right in between upper mid-range or even premium.
In software terms, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is powered by Android 16, which is one of the first mobile devices to be launched on the new version of Google OS. It is also available with 8GB of RAM, which is plenty to multitask and play games as well as future-proofs.
The leaks and reports show that the Z Flip 7 FE will be supported by the same 6.7-inch main screen as its more expensive brother. The outer surface will have a cover screen measuring 3.4 inches that will give a preview of notifications, camera, and widgets without the need to unfold the device.
Design is expected to be based on the same clamshell foldable form that made the Flip series famous the small and elegant form factor that will attract the attention of users who seek a phone that is more than everyday ordinary.
Regarding the cameras, Flip 7 FE will have a main camera of 12MP, an ultra-wide camera of 12MP and the front camera of 10MP. Not being a flagship-level camera on paper, this dual-camera should provide decent photographic experience to the majority.
For battery, there is a rumor that the phone will have a 3,700mAh battery, which is a bit smaller than other brands but will last the whole day, nonetheless, with some optimizations by the software developer. Its fast charging will reach 25W, so the device will charge fast when fast charging is essential.
