Realme is all set to make a big announcement in the smartphone world, unveiling the name of the global camera company it has collaborated with for its upcoming Realme GT 8 Pro series. The name will be unveiled on October 9 2025. Realme partners with the camera company to deliver professional-grade camera performance and innovation that could redefine smartphone photography standards.
According to Realme’s Global Head of Product Marketing, Francis Wong, the company will officially announce the name of its world-renowned camera partner on October 9. The tweet, though short and mysterious, has ignited curiosity among fans and tech enthusiasts. While Realme hasn’t confirmed anything yet, strong speculation suggests that Ricoh, a Japanese brand famous for its optical and imaging technology could be the mystery collaborator.
The Realme GT 8 Pro is expected to be the centerpiece of this partnership. Early teasers suggest the flagship device will feature a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5 periscope telephoto sensor, setting a new benchmark in its segment. The camera is said to deliver exceptional zoom performance and low-light detail, something Realme has been working to perfect.
Realme has hinted that the GT 8 Pro will support a swappable rear camera module and users may be able to choose from three distinct module designs: one circular, one robot-inspired, and another square-shaped. These camera backs are reportedly attached with screws, meaning swapping them could require small tools.
Apart from the periscope lens, the GT 8 Pro could also sport a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-808 main sensor with OIS, alongside a 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 ultrawide shooter. Combined with AI-enhanced image processing and Realme’s rumored Ricoh tuning, users can expect sharper details, balanced colors, and professional-grade tones.
