The unboxing experience is basic but you get all the essentials. There’s a standard grey case, some UV glue stickers, a 45-watt power brick, a USB-A to C cable, and a SIM tool along with the phone. We’ve got the pearl white colour here, which looks good but feels a bit plasticky. news Also Read: Realme GT 8 Pro India Launch Timeline Leaked: May Arrive Next Month With Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

First impressions, the Realme 14 Pro is a seriously slim phone that feels light. It is among the lightest 6000mAh phones I’ve used so far. But the weight shaving has come at a cost as the back doesn’t feel as solid as the Realme 13 Pro.

However, the Realme 14 Pro is IP69 water and drop-resistant, so the build should be solid enough for casual drops. Realme also mentioned that if you drown this phone in cold water, it should change from white to blue. It’s a great party trick but it is temporary and we wouldn’t recommend doing so as the IP rating weakens over time. So if you do it once or twice, it’s good, but this isn’t something you should repeatedly do to your phone.

Realme 14 Pro display and cameras

Realme 14 Pro display

This is a typical Realme when it comes to the screen. The Realme 14 Pro has a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED screen. At first look, this is a bright, fluid, and responsive display, and should be easy on the eyes even in outdoor usage. But you’ll have to wait for our review to know more about the various modes, the refresh rate, and responsiveness.

Realme 14 Pro camera close up

Realme has done something some gimmicky. The rear module looks like it has 3 cameras, but there’s only one functioning camera, along with 3 flashes that give you a fill light functionality. The last-generation Realme 13 Pro had a dual camera system; this time, the company removed the ultrawide altogether.

It’d be better if they added a telephoto in its place, or made the camera bump sleeker if there was to be only one camera. While this is a 50MP camera and looks promising, you’ll have to wait for the detailed review for our full opinion on this system.

Realme 14 Pro about

Realme has chosen a MediaTek chip instead of a Snapdragon one for the Realme 14 Pro. At first glance, the Realme 14 Pro feels smooth, and all the functions launch quickly.

So this one is a mixed bag in my book. The Realme 14 Pro has an 800mAh bigger battery, which means the phone should last longer on a single charge, but the charging speed is the same 45 watts as the last-gen Realme 13.

You now get triple flash with fill light for night photos, but no dedicated ultrawide or telephoto lens. You get an IP69 rating and the colour is changing back, but I don’t think anybody would be confident enough to dunk their phone in cold water for a temporary colour change.

But let’s not be dismissive of the Realme 14 Pro just yet, because the Realme Pro series has given us some quirky but great phones in the last couple of years. So I’ll reserve my judgment for the full review.
