The smartphone market continues to get more competitive, and Oppo has just added another contender to the budget-friendly 5G segment. The company has officially introduced the Oppo A5i Pro 5G in Malaysia, expanding on its A5i lineup that previously debuted with 4G-only models.

This new launch brings 5G connectivity, a powerful processor, and a massive battery, aiming to attract users looking for both performance and long-lasting usage at an affordable price.

Display and Performance

The Oppo A5i Pro 5G sports a 6.67-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 720×1604 pixels. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations, while the 1,000 nits peak brightness ensures better visibility under sunlight. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, offering durability against everyday scratches.

At its core, the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, giving users reliable performance for gaming, multitasking, and media use.

Camera

Oppo has included a 50MP main camera, assisted by a 2MP monochrome sensor at the back, while the front features an 8MP selfie camera for video calls and selfies. For audiophiles, the phone retains a 3.5mm headphone jack, something many users still value.

The handset also brings IP65 certification for dust and splash resistance and even carries MIL-STD-810H certification for shock resistance, making it a sturdy choice in this segment.

The Oppo A5i Pro 5G is available in Breeze Blue and Midnight Purple color options, priced at MYR 799 (around $188) in Malaysia. Buyers who purchase before September 16 via the Oppo online store will also receive an additional one-year warranty at no extra cost.
