OnePlus Open 2 could fill the gaps left by its predecessor; Here's what we know

OnePlus Open made a lot of buzz in the smartphone market at the time of its launch. However, that’s an old story and we all know that it’s high time the brand drops the successor. The latest rumors related to the device suggested that the device will be a rebranded version of the Oppo Find N5 that will launch in China. This time, OnePlus is all set to bring the OnePlus Open 2 with new features and improvements.

OnePlus Open 2: What can we expect to see?

With the upcoming OnePlus Open 2 on the cards, we can expect to see major upgrades in terms of performance. There are high chance that the smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The same has been confirmed by the Digital Chat Station, a popular tipster on Weibo. This is going to be a major overhaul as compared to its predecessor which came with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. This time, we could expect the device to deliver an enhanced gaming experience.

OnePlus Open was called out from all over the globe due to the absence of wireless charging. Now, its successor is all set to shut the critiques down by including a wireless charging feature. Other leaks related to the smartphone have suggested that the OnePlus Open 2 will have an IPX8 water resistance certification. The leaks have also revealed a unique feature, ‘anti-drop body structure.’ This clearly means that the smartphone will have better durability.

Some of the leaks related to the sensors of the OnePlus Open 2 state that the device will have a 50MP periscope telephoto sensor with optical zoom functionality. Older reports also mentioned that we could get to see a triple rear camera setup in the device. As for the launch, rumors have it that the Oppo Find N5 will reach the Chinese market by the end of March 2025. Considering that, we can expect the OnePlus Open 2 to launch by the second quarter of 2025.
