OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite vs Nord CE 3 Lite: OnePlus has set the launch of its next affordable smartphone on June 24. The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite will succeed the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite from last year. For starters, last year’s Nord CE 3 Lite was one of the best-selling phones on Amazon from OnePlus in 2023. Now, the hopes are high for its successor, which is just a few days away from release. Since the launch is not too far away, we know some of its specifications and features. Let’s compare the Nord CE 4 Lite with the Nord CE 3 Lite, so you can have a clear idea about the upcoming device before its release. The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite will feature a new design on the rear. The device will have a new camera island holding two camera sensors and two LED flash units. There will be a OnePlus branding in the middle as it is on the existing CE 3 Lite. As for the display, the smartphone will have a tad bit smaller display, coming at 6.67-inch. It will be a punch-hole AMOLED panel with an FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a better 2,100 nits of peak brightness. So the display will be brighter on the newer Nord. Further, we might as well see better protection. The existing CE 3 Lite smartphone has Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Also Read: OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite review: Good cameras, average performance
Moving to the cameras, OnePlus is expected to trim down the camera system from a triple-rear camera setup to a dual camera. The Nord CE 4 Lite is confirmed to get a new 50MP Sony LYT-600 main lens as opposed to a 108MP sensor, which might be a higher-megapixel lens, but is an older unit. The main lens will also likely have OIS support. Expect it to be accompanied by a 2MP auxiliary lens. Upfront, it may retain the 16MP sensor. As far as the performance is concerned, OnePlus will likely go with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 or a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset. It will most likely be the latter as it’s a new chipset. Also, the Nord CE 4 Lite is said to be a rebranded Oppo K12X, which has the same chipset. For comparison, the existing Nord CE 3 Lite is powered by a Snapdragon 695 chipset. Expect 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of internal storage in the CE 4 Lite.
In terms of the battery, OnePlus is expected to stack a bigger battery of 5,500mAh, as opposed to a 5,000mAh cell inside the existing CE 3 Lite. It will also get a faster charging support of 80W, up from 67W. The device will boot on Android 14 OS and have an OxygenOS skin on top.
The device will likely have dual-SIM 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GNSS suite having GPS support. It may have a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.
Interestingly, OnePlus may not hike the price of the Nord CE 4 Lite. The device is expected to start under Rs 20,000, which is in line with the launch pricing of the Nord CE 3 Lite. Upon launch next week, the device should be available for purchase later this month or early next month in online and offline stores.
