OnePlus Nord 4 is only a few days old but has already received a major software update. Rolling out in a phased manner in India, the new update brings a host of bug fixes, but, more importantly, features that make the phone more capable at photography with Android’s Ultra HDR support. OnePlus’ AI features also has a new tool to fix the closed eyes of people in a group photo, much like Pixel’s AI function.
The changelog of the new update does not list many features, but its size is big enough to guess there are several under-the-hood enhancements. Nord 4’s update, which changes the firmware version to CPH2661_14.1.0.320, is 6.25GB. OnePlus is rolling out the new version only to the Indian model currently, but variants in other regions are likely to receive their software upgrades in the coming days.
After the update, the OnePlus Nord 4 will offer the AI Best Face feature, which essentially fixes closed eyes in group photos. The camera app now supports Android’s Ultra HDR for ProXDR photos, so you get a high dynamic range. OnePlus has improved the general camera performance, as well as the overall system stability with the new update. The bug fixes are not mentioned, but you can expect a smoother experience after the update.
