iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max Leaks Hint at Transparent Rear Glass, Smarter AI, and More

Apple is already generating speculation in the tech world about their next generation lineup of iPhone, the iPhone 18 series, although the iPhone 17 series was just released in September 2025.Leaks in the industry and reports by insiders have already started giving hints on what could be in its designs, improved processors, and more. This could give an idea of what Apple can offer to further innovate in its performance, photography and display technology. The fans are especially interested in the way the new series will stand out among the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max and integrate the latest hardware innovations introduced by Apple.

Processor

Apple is expected to use its next-generation A20 Pro chip, which is developed through the 2nm process, to power the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. It is predicted that this new processor will provide a higher performance speed, better battery life, and on-device AI capabilities. The regular iPhone 18 is likely to possess the A20 chip, also based on the 2nm process, to reduce the gap in performance between the regular and Pro models.

Design and Display

Apple appears to continue with the aluminum unibody in the Pro models, with the same display size of 6.3 and 6.9-inch. A clear back cover on the back side of the glass could be one possible update of the phones, providing them with a slight new appearance. In the case of the regular iPhone 18, it is rumored that the Dynamic Island will be smaller, which will provide additional screen space. Apple can also optimize the Camera Control button that should be made simpler, or it can be pressure sensitive, but keep the gesture-based functions.

Camera Upgrades

The iPhone 18 series is anticipated to have a 48-megapixel ultrawide, which is provided by the 1/2.6-inch, three-layer stacked CMOS sensor by Samsung. Such a camera will most likely improve performance in low light, accelerate reading images and minimise the effect of the rolling shutter. Although the Pro models will be available in September 2026, the regular iPhone 18 can be made available a bit later, perhaps in early 2027.

Expected Price in India

Pricing is expected to remain similar to the iPhone 17 series, with the iPhone 18 starting around Rs 82,900, the iPhone 18 Pro at approximately Rs 1,34,900, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max near Rs 1,69,900.
