The smartphone industry is witnessing one of the major battles between Apple and Xiaomi with their iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro Max. While Apple’s new iPhone 17 Pro Max has already made headlines with its A19 Pro chipset, polished iOS 26, and new design, Xiaomi’s 17 Pro Max is all about bold strategies and unique features.

Xiaomi is not just working toward innovation, but it is also bringing display enhancements, unique extras, and more in areas where Apple could have done more. Interestingly, Xiaomi excluded its 16 series altogether to rival Apple’s iPhone 17 lineup directly. It reveals the company’s intention to compete head-to-head with Apple.

Xiaomi brings its 17 Pro Max with a 6.9-inch AMOLED screen, which is protected by the Longjing Glass 3.0. Other than this, which sets Xiamo on the upper stage, is the introduction of the 2.7-2.9-inch secondary display at the back, which functions as a digital watch, selfie mirror, and more

In addition, users can also attach a Gamo-Boy retro handheld case for gaming on the secondary screen, a feature that is nowhere near the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Other than this, Xiaomi also included 1.5K resolution, DC dimming, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and adaptive 1~120Hz refresh rate in its 17 Pro Max display that Apple misses out.

For selfies, the iPhone 17 Pro Max comes with an 18MP front camera, whereas the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max features a 50MP front camera.

While both devices handle heavy gaming, multitasking, and productivity apps effortlessly, Xiaomi offers additional customization and flexibility through Android, as well as slightly higher RAM, making it better suited for power users and multitaskers.

Apple positions the iPhone 17 Pro Max at Rs. 1,49,900 for the 256GB variant, while Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is currently only available in China at a price tag of CNY 5,999 for the 12GB + 512GB RAM. The 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB storage variants are available at CNY 6,299 and CNY 6,999, respectively.
