iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max Leaks Hint Major Upgrades Over iPhone 16 Pro Models

The iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max were launched last year with a bunch of crucial upgrades over their predecessors. But this year, the list of upgrades is expected to be long for the iPhone 17 Pro models as per the latest leak. A tipster Debayan Roy (@Gadgetsdata) has revealed that the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max aren’t just about new design but internal upgrades too.

Based on the past trends of the processor and the latest leaks, the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max are expected to pack a 3nm A19 Pro chipset, an obvious upgrade over the A18 Pro chipset of the iPhone 16 Pro models. They may also get a Wi-Fi 7 chip. What else?

Apart from this, the iPhone 17 Pro models are also expected to get a triple camera setup of each 48MP — main, ultra-wide, and periscope telephoto. It must be noted that the iPhone 16 Pro models feature a 48MP main, a 48MP ultra-wide, and a 12MP periscope telephoto camera. Not just the rear, the selfie camera is also tipped to get a pixel boost to 24MP against the 12MP main camera.

What’s more interesting is the expected battery capacity. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is tipped to pack a 5000mAh battery against the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s 4,685mAh.

Talking about the design, the entire iPhone 17 series is rumoured to go through several changes. One of the prominent ones for the iPhone 17 Pro models is the rectangular camera module at the back which we have never seen in any iPhone models in the past. Not just that, Apple is also expected to ditch the titanium frame with the return of Aluminium frame and glass-aluminium back.

However, everything is still based on leaks, rumours and some speculations. The launch of the iPhone 17 series is still expected in September 2025. Till then, we will have to wait for more information to fill the voids of the other specifications.
