iPhone 17
Apple fans in India are eagerly waiting for the highly anticipated iPhone 17 lineup launches. Every September, Apple creates a global storm with its new iPhones with power-packed features, and this year the excitement is doubled because India has become one of Apple’s most important markets.
Apple has started the production of all models in the iPhone 17 series in India, with manufacturing occurring at multiple factories, including Foxconn’s new facility in Bengaluru. It means the iPhone 17 series will hit the Indian markets almost at the same time as the global launch.
The iPhone 17 series will reportedly include four iPhones: the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, in which Pro and Pro Max are the high-end variants. Let’s check out what we know so far about the iPhone 17 Pro.
Apple has confirmed the launch event to take place on September 9 with ‘Awe Dropping’ event. The event will take place at 10:30 PM IST and will be streamed live from the Steve Jobs Theatre in Cupertino.
Indian viewers can watch the livestream on Apple’s official YouTube channel, Apple TV, and directly on the apple.com. As always, the show will be hosted by CEO Tim Cook. The spotlight of the event will obviously be on the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the new iPhone 17 Air.
While the company has not officially confirmed the pricing, past launches give us a clear picture of what to expect. The iPhone 17 Pro is likely to start in India at around Rs 1,25,000, making it one of the premium models in the lineup.
The exact price will vary depending on storage, with higher variants possibly crossing the Rs 1,50,000 mark. Apple usually keeps Indian pricing slightly higher than the U.S. because of import duties and taxes, so buyers here may need to pay more than international customers.
iPhone 17 Pro pre-orders is expected begin in India on September 12, three days after the launch event. Keeping Apple’s tradition in mind, the pre-orders will likely start from 5:30 PM IST.
Apple will also roll out its latest iOS 26 update right after the keynote. Indian iPhone users, including those with older models like the iPhone 11 and beyond, can download the new update on September 15. This will give users a taste of the fresh features before they decide to upgrade to the iPhone 17.
