Apple is gearing up for its upcoming iPhone 17 series, which could be more than just an annual refresh and hence they may represent a turning point in Apple’s long-standing camera evolution. The launch is still months away and there is no official report about the iPhone 17 launch, however, early reports hint toward the dramatic advancements in the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
One of the most talked-about changes being discussed in Apple’s plan is to enhance the resolution of its telephoto camera in the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. The brand could potentially introduce the 48MP camera, meaning all three rear cameras including wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto are reported to deliver 48MP output, something never seen before on an iPhone. If this happens, then it surely would enhance the image clarity and detail, especially in zoomed-in shots.
Another rumored feature that could reshape how people use the iPhone camera is native multi-camera video recording. If Apple integrates this into its default Camera app, users could shoot video from multiple lenses at once, offering greater creative control, something that has long required third-party apps.
Not just this, there’s something special for the selfie lovers too and there might be a major upgrade. The front camera is expected to jump from 12MP to 24MP. This will not just improve the low-light shots, but also video calls. This would be the first significant front camera update in years and could be extended across all iPhone 17 models, not just the Pro versions.
Talking about the design of the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, Apple might ditch the traditional camera bump in favor of a sleek and horizontal camera bar. This new design is expected to offer both aesthetic and internal design efficiency.
