Share With the iPhone 17 expected to arrive around September 2025, leaks have already started making the rounds. From design elements to expected specifications – we know something or other via leaks. Now, the latest leak is all about colour. According to popular tipster @MajinBuOfficial, Apple is currently testing two new shades for the base models: Purple and Green.
While nothing has been finalised yet, Purple seems to be the favourite internally at Apple. If approved, it could become the main colour option for the standard iPhone 17 model, the tipster suggested. Green is also being considered, but it’s still unclear whether both colours will make it to the final lineup or just one.
The iPhone 16 came in options like ultramarine, teal, pink, white, and black. To make space for Purple or Green, it’s likely that Apple will retire one or two of the older shades. Each new iPhone usually gets a small refresh in colours to keep things feeling new, and Apple has a track record of making bold yet minimal design choices.
What about the iPhone 17 Pro models? While the colour leaks so far are mainly about the base models, there’s also talk of a new Sky Blue variant being tested for the iPhone 17 Pro range. Again, this isn’t confirmed yet, but Apple seems to be exploring more choices across the lineup.
Beyond colours, a few other updates are rumoured for the iPhone 17 base models. One of the most interesting ones is that even the base iPhone 17 models are tipped to feature a 120Hz display, something fans have been asking for. These may get an aluminium body with a glass back, still supporting MagSafe charging. Moreover, these models may have an improved camera system with better low-light performance.
The iPhone 17 is expected to be accompanied by a new Plus model replacement, iPhone 17 Air, along with the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. On the basis of past patterns, the iPhone 17 series is expected to be launch in September 2025. Till then, we should take the information with a pinch of salt.
