iPhone 17 Air to Ditch Charging Port; Expected to be the Slimmest iPhone Ever: Reports

Apple is setting the stage for its upcoming iPhone 17 series with several leaks coming to the forefront sparking interest and speculation among tech enthusiasts. The series is expected to comprise four models including the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Leaked reports claim that Apple might bring some bold design changes to its iPhone 17 Air. However, there’s no official information as to what the company might bring. But still there are several rumors suggesting some of the specifications and design enhancements in the upcoming iPhone 17 Air.

One of the biggest update that’s coming regarding the iPhone 17 Air is that Apple might ditch the charging port entirely. As per Bloomberg report, the tech giant might opt for fully wireless design for its iPhone 17 Air and hence bringing its rumored slim design.  In order to bring the slimmest design to iPhone 17 Air, Apple may ditch physical SIM tray, dual camera and several other features that’s hindering the design efficiency of the iPhone 17 Air.

The Bloomberg report says, “The iPhone 17 Air represents the beginning of a sea change for Apple. Apple executives say that if this new iPhone is successful, the company intends to again attempt to make port-free iPhones and move more of its models to this slimmer approach. However, it seems some reports suggests that company ultimately decided to opt out from the port free iPhone due to the EU regulations and hence it might include a USB-C port.

The Port-Free design is indeed not in the action, but the company still might bring redesigned internal components including display and silicon. Bloomberg’s report further illustrates that in order to maintain the slimmest design of te iPhone 17 Air, the company might bring it with smaller battery. Other features might include the iphone measuring 5.5mm in thickness and 48MP single main camera.
