Apple enthusiasts worldwide are eagerly waiting for tomorrow’s ‘Awe Dropping’ event, expected to reveal the iPhone 17 lineup along with multiple other products. Among these, the rumored iPhone 17 Air is generating the most buzz as the thinnest iPhone ever. The device is expected to come with a design overhaul, and hence, attract attention from both tech lovers and casual users.
Here’s What We Can Expect from iPhone 17 Air
iPhone 17 Air launch will be livestreamed at 10:30 PM IST on September 9, 2025. Viewers can watch the livestream via Apple’s official YouTube channel, event pages, and Apple TV app.
The iPhone 17 Air is tipped to launch in the US at $899. In India, the expected price is around Rs 89,900, though import duties and taxes could slightly increase this figure.
Apple is rumored to bring its iPhone 17 Air with just 5.5mm in thickness, making it slimmer than any previous iPhone ever. To recall, iPhone 16 measures 7.8mm, which signifies a major reduction in bulk.
The tech giant is said to achieve this through a reimagined internal layout and also with the use of lighter and sturdier materials. iPhone 17 Air is expected to get a pill-shaped camera of 48MP while maintaining the ultra-thin frame.
Display and Build
The iPhone 17 Air is expected to feature a 6.6-inch LTPO OLED display sourced from Samsung. This is expected to offer a 30% brightness boost over the previous generation. The display will get support for 120Hz ProMotion refresh rates, which was previously reserved for Pro models only.
The device might get a hybrid titanium-aluminium frame along with a projected weight of around 145 grams. Apple is also reportedly reducing glass coverage, improving resistance to accidental drops.
Performance and Chipset
Under the hood, iPhone 17 Air will likely be powered by the A19 chipset, a slightly trimmed-down version of the rumored A19 Pro. The device is expected to pack a 12GB RAM, alongside a vapor chamber cooling technology.
Battery and Cameras
Although Apple never reveals the battery capacity of its iPhones, but iPhone 17 Air might pack just a 2,800mAh battery along with wireless charging at 25W Qi 2.2 and MagSafe support.
As far as cameras are concerned, the iPhone 17 Air will feature a 48MP wide sensor, while the front camera will get a 24MP upgrade, doubling the previous generation’s selfie resolution.
Connectivity
The iPhone 17 Air will support Wi-Fi 7 and include features such as the Action Button, MagSafe charging, and potentially the removal of the SIM tray in select markets. While mmWave 5G may not be supported, other connectivity upgrades ensure a modern and efficient experience.
