Apple will likely launch the next iPhone lineup sometime in September this year. Rumours suggest the iPhone 16 as the name for the upcoming flagship iPhones, adding that there will be cosmic changes over and above upgrades in hardware and features. A new leaked image of what looks like the dummy models of the iPhone 16 series hints at the actual sizes of all four models, corroborating previous reports about an increase in screen size. An X (formerly Twitter) user who goes by Sonny Dickson has shared an image showing four dummies representing the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The dummies clearly look bigger than the existing iPhone 15 Pro models, showing the larger screen size of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The iPhone 16 Pro may come with a 6.3-inch display instead of 6.1 inches, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max may use a 6.9-inch display instead of a 6.7-inch screen on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The remaining models — iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus — will likely have screens of the same size as the current iPhone 15 models. That means the iPhone 16 may have a 6.1-inch screen, while the iPhone 16 Plus may carry a 6.7-inch display. However, the non-Pro models will have a camera redesign, featuring a vertical camera setup instead of a diagonal one. Reports suggest the new camera design will accommodate spatial video capture, representing an upgrade in overall iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus photography features.
While the iPhone 16 will see a minor change in the rear design, its hardware will also see a facelift. The iPhone 16 series may feature a new “capture” button, letting users open the camera and start shooting quickly. The non-Pro models will also have the Action button, which was launched on last year’s Pro models. Apple is also expected to introduce a faster A-series chipset with the new phones, while connectivity will see significant upgrades with Wi-Fi 7.
