Google recently launched its Pixel 9 series worldwide, including Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold with flagship features. But recent events indicate that a few Pixel 9 Pro XL owners have reported issues with their devices. While flagship devices like Pixel have generally been praised for their design, performance, hardware, and camera features, some Pixel owners are complaining about issues with their device’s charging capabilities.

The issues with the Pixel 9 Pro XL charging were first recorded on the Pixel Phone Help Forum, where a user said, “My new 9 Pro XL has odd behavior with wireless charging. I first noticed this with my Anker MagSafe charging puck and a Mous MagSafe Case. It would show charging for a few seconds, then stop. Temperature of the device was very cool.”

The Nature of the Problem

Some users have reported that their Pixel 9 Pro XL devices charge slowly, even when using the official Google charger and cable. Some others have also mentioned that the device sometimes fails to recognize the charger. In addition, the device sometimes stops charging after only a few minutes. It has also been reported that the device gets unusually warm while charging, which could indicate a major issue with the battery.

Some of the Possible Causes

While the tech giant has not officially addresses the issue or released any statement. But there can be several possible causes behind the charging issue. As per several users a software bug may be responsible for the inconsistent charging behavior. Another theory points towards the hardware, where charging ports are faulty or device batteries might be causing issues with the charging. However, Pixel 9 Pro XL owners who use third-party chargers may also face charging compatibility issues,  as the company doesn’t recommend using these accessories.

What to Do if You’re Affected

You can try few steps if you are experiencing charging issues with your Pixel 9 Pro XL. For example: You can try using different charger, but only the ones provided or recommended by Google. Additionally, you can also check for software updates or hardware replacmenets.

Additionally, you can also try restarting your Pixel Pro XL or try to perform a factory reset. But make sure to backup your data. If these steps doesn’t work, then try reaching out to Google’s cusomer support or post your issues on official forum.
