Google Offers Free Screen Replacement for Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL With Display Issues: But Here’s the Catch

Google has announced a special program for its Pixel 9 users in India. The program includes Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL, wherein the company will identify the potential display issues and offers free screen replacements for affected devices. The tech giant will identify the affected units and will ensure that users do not face long-term display problems.

This extended support from Google is valid only for three years from the date of purchase. If you own a Pixel 9 Pro Fold then you are also qualified or the replacement at no cost.

What Devices Are Eligible

The devices eligible in this program is Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. To recall, these devices are showing vertical lines running from top to the bottom of the display. These vertical lines were displaying flickering issues in the devices. Nevertheless, devices with signs of liquid, cracked screens, and damaged glasses are not eligible for this free screen replacement program.

How to Get Your Screen Replaced

The Google’s screen repair program started on December 8 2025 and eligible users can visit the Google walk-in centre and authorized service partner. In addition, you can also opt for online repair options too.

Every replacement that comes under this program offers a 90-days warranty in accordance to local consumer protection laws. However, standard warranty rights for the devices will remain intact.

Duration and Coverage

This repair program covers devices for three years from the original purchase date of the Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, or Pixel 9 Pro Fold. You can check device’s eligibility via Google’s website. For the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, users who previously paid for a screen replacement before December 8, 2025, may also be eligible for reimbursement or replacement.
