If you are a Windows PC user, you are likely tired of looking at your laptop or desktop’s screen because everything on it is mostly white or light in colour. While having a light theme for your applications and computer’s interface is good and favourable sometimes, having it turned all times can be annoying. It is good that Windows 11 also offers a dark mode to get away from the light mode as long as you want. Much like the dark mode available on our Android smartphones and iPhones, the Windows version changes the theme of the entire interface to shades of black for easy reading at night. The dark mode also enhances the appeal of some applications and websites because of the contrast different design elements produce against the black colour. There are two ways to turn on the dark mode on your Windows PC: a Custom mode and the Dark mode. The first option lets you choose different colour themes for your Windows and apps, while the latter makes the dark colour theme uniform across the entire interface. — Click on the Start menu and then select Settings. Alternatively, you can press the Windows key and “I” together to open the Start menu.
— Now click on Personalization, followed by a click on Colors.
— You will see two options here. Choose Custom.
— Doing that will open two more options below: Choose your default Windows mode and Choose your default app mode.
— Pick the Dark option for the first option to turn on the dark mode for the Windows interface, while the second option can be Light or Dark depending on your choice.
— Click on the Start menu and go to Settings. You can also use the alternate method to open the Start menu.
— Select Personalization and then click on Colors.
— Now select Dark in the Choose your mode option to turn the Windows interface and apps that follow the system default dark instantly.
