Meta is bringing some of Instagram’s popular safety features to Threads. Adam Mosseri via a post on Threads announced that the company is expanding the availability of mute word filters to more parts of the platform. Earlier, the feature called ‘Hidden Words’ was available only on replies in a specific post. Simply put, earlier, Threads users could only filter out replies with specific words in their posts. Now, this feature has been expanded to support feeds, search and even profiles.
“Today on Threads, we’re expanding Hidden Words, which until now only were applied to replies, so you can filter out unwanted content from feeds, search, profiles, and post replies on Threads,” Mosseri wrote in a post on Threads.
In addition to this, the Instagram boss also announced that Meta is testing two new features on Threads. The first of these features will let Threads users select who can quote them on Meta’s Twitter rival. The other feature will let users mute all notifications from their posts. “We’re also testing ways to select who can quote you and the ability to mute notifications on your posts,” Mosseri added in his post.
Step 1: Download the latest version of Threads on your Android phone or iPhone.
Step 2: Open the Threads app on your smartphone.
Step 3: Now go to your profile.
Step 4: Tap the globe icon in the upper left corner of the Threads app.
Step 5: Next, tap the Hidden Words option.
Step 6: After that, tap the Manage Custom Words and Phrases option under the Custom Words and Phrases option.
Step 7: In the space provided, enter the terms you want to hide from your Threads profile.
Step 8: Lastly, tap the Add button.
It is worth noting that these new features have been announced a day after Mosseri announced that the company has started to test a feature that will let users archive posts on the platform. “ou can do this manually, for individual posts, or choose to automatically archive all posts after a certain period of time. If you want to make your post public again, you can always unarchive it whenever you’d like,” Mosseri wrote in a post on the platform adding that at the moment, this feature is available with a small number of users only.
