The iPhone 17 series comes with a new Camera Control button – designed to make photography faster and easier. Placed on the lower-right side of the phone, it gives instant access to the Camera app, zoom, exposure, and other quick settings.  news Also Read: iPhone 17 Is More Prone To Mobile Scams Than Pixel 10 Pro, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Moto Razr+ 2025?

While it sounds useful, not everyone is happy with it. Many users have found that a light squeeze while lifting the phone or pulling it out of a pocket is enough to launch the Camera unintentionally. In some cases, it even triggers Visual Intelligence when users are simply trying to answer a call. This is because the button sits exactly where most people naturally grip the phone, making it easy to press without realising. The result? Unwanted photos, missed touches, and random camera launches. Thankfully, the fix is quick and reversible. news Also Read: iPhone 17 Pro Done And Dusted! The iPhone 18 Pro Seems To Have THESE Major Changes

iPhone 17 Pro Tips And Tricks: How To Turn Off Camera Control Completely

If you prefer not to use the feature at all, you can disable it in a few steps:

  • First of all, open Settings on your iPhone.
  • Now tap Accessibility.
  • Then select Camera Control under the Physical and Motor section.
  • Turn off the toggle next to Camera Control.
  • Once done, the button won’t open the Camera app or adjust any settings. You can enable it again anytime using the same steps.

Want to Keep It But Reduce Accidental Presses?

If you like the shortcut but want to avoid misfires, you can make it more deliberate:

  • Go to Settings, then Camera, Camera Control, and then click on the Launch Method and set it to Double Click.
  • This adds an extra press, preventing random launches when grabbing the phone.
  • You can also increase the press sensitivity if your iPhone offers that option, or disable gestures you rarely use.
