How to search messages by date on WhatsApp

One such feature that may be useful for WhatsApp users has arrived on iPhones. WhatsApp’s latest update on iPhones brings the ability to search messages by date. Search message by date on WhatsApp

Before we get started, do note that the feature is yet to reach Android devices. So if you are an Android phone owner, this article isn’t for you. However, you can note the steps since it is expected to be released for Android phones soon.

Prior to reading the steps below, make sure that the WhatsApp version on your iPhone is the latest. The latest version of WhatsApp on iOS is 23.1.75. With that said, let’s see all the steps.

Step 1: After updating WhatsApp, open the app.

Step 2: Open the chat, in which you want to search messages by date.

Step 3: Tap on the name of the person at the top.

Step 4: Tap on Search, which is located next to the Pay button.

Step 5: Now, you can either search directly by typing in the keywords, or you can search older messages by date, month, and year. To do the latter, tap on the Calendar button just above your keyboard.

Step 6: Select the date, month, and year.

Step 7: Lastly, tap on Jump to Date.

Once you follow the last step, you will be jumped to the specific date where you can read the conversation. If there’s no conversation for the selected date, the date/month/year selector will be reset to the current date.
