How to delete unwanted notifications on Facebook
Facebook has begun sending irrelevant and unwanted notifications, which can be very annoying sometimes. Here are the steps to delete and manage them.

Facebook has turned into a graveyard. Well, almost! Young users have fled to more popular social media apps such as Instagram and Snapchat, but adults keep Facebook alive. That may be a good thing for one of the oldest social media platforms, but some users who are not as active face an annoyance. A flood of irrelevant and unnecessary notifications on Facebook is distracting and annoying. Thankfully, there are ways to delete these notifications.

How to delete unwanted notifications on Facebook

Deleting individual notifications

— Choose the notification you want to delete. Remember you can select notifications individually and not group them.
— Tap or click the three dots (ellipsis) icon next to the notification.
— Delete the notification by tapping the “Remove This Notification” option.
Adjusting notification settings
On desktop
— Open Facebook in a browser and sign in to your account.
— Click the down arrow in the top right corner and then head to “Settings & privacy.”
— Under the “Settings” menu, go to the search bar, type “Notification.” and then select “Notification Settings.”
— You will see all kinds of notifications that Facebook sends you.
— Turn off the switch to stop receiving notifications of a particular category.
On mobile
— In your Facebook app, tap the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) at the bottom.
— Now, scroll down and tap “Settings & Privacy” and then “Settings.”
— Go to “Notification Settings” here to see a list of notification categories.
Trending Now
— Toggle the switches next to the categories you no longer want to receive notifications from. You can turn off notifications from each category to stop receiving notifications completely on Facebook.
