Did you ever wish that your Google Search would get websites that you prefer more? To make your wish come true, Google is rolling out a new Search feature in India and the US called Preferred Sources. What will it do? The idea is simple that you can choose your favourite news outlets on top of the searches of Google, which will make sure that the stories from your preferred platforms will appear in the Top Stories section more often. news Also Read: Google’s New AI Tool Lets You See How Shoes Look On You Before Buying

Google Preferred Sources: How It Works

Once you select your preferred sources, their articles will show up more prominently in Top Stories whenever they publish relevant news. In some searches, you might also see a dedicated “From your sources” section highlighting updates from the sites you follow. news Also Read: Google Expands Opal To India: Here’s How You Can Build Apps in Minutes Using AI

You can add as many sources as you like and change them anytime. In fact, Google says that in early testing, more than half of the people picked four or more outlets to follow. If you’ve used this feature through Google Labs before, your previous selections will automatically carry over.

How To Enable Preferred Sources

If you want to set up the preferred sources in Google Search, then follow these quick steps:

  • First of all, search for a topic that’s currently in the news.
  • After that, click the small icon to the right of the Top Stories header.
  • Here, you will get an option to search and select your preferred outlets.
  • Refresh your search results to see more from those sites.
  • Even after enabling it, you’ll still see stories from other publishers, so you won’t miss out on different perspectives.

This will allow you to have faster access to the news sources that you trust without scrolling endlessly.
