Google Gemini’s Veo 3 Feature Lets You Animate Memories: How to Transform Static Photos Into Dynamic Videos

Google debuted its latest Veo 3 AI model during I/O 2025 in May, and now it is available in over 150 countries, including India. This next-gen video generation tool allows users to create videos just by typing a description of the video. Additionally, they can also sync sound to match the visuals. But here’s one thing that you might not know! Google has also developed a new feature that will allow users to turn their photos into short 8-second video clips via Veo 3.

“You can create short videos in minutes in Gemini Apps. Simply describe what you have in mind and watch your ideas come to life in motion – whether you’re creating for fun, sharing with friends, or visualizing a concept”, says Google

Here’s How You Can Turn Your Photos into Video via Veo 3:

STEP1: The first step to convert your photos into beautiful video is to open the tool menu and then select the Videos option in the prompt box.

STEP2: The next step is to upload your photo that you want to convert into video

STEP3: Now, you need to describe the scene in the text box, including details about what should move and any other auto instructions.

STEP4: Based on your description, your photos will turn into a beautiful short video.

STEP5: Once your video is ready, tap the share button or download it to save and send it to your friends and family.

Availability:

The feature will be available and starting to roll out to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. It will be available in selected countries for now. You can try the feature at Gemini.google.com. The same features and capabilities will be available in Flow, which is Google’s AI filmmaking tool.

If you are below 18 years, then you will not be able to sue this feature with your account. The videos could take at atleast 1-2 minutes to generate and you can only use photos that doesn’t come with restriction or photos that you own or have right to use.
