Android hacks: How to check a blocked number on your smartphone

In the information age, telemarketers and spams are just a message or a phone call away. While it is easy to block a series of spam messages or calls from a telemarketing company, selling you everything from a personal loan to house appliance servicing service, it’s also possible that you block a genuine communication, a message from a colleague or a call from a long-lost friend, in the process. Thankfully, it is almost as easy to see blocked messages or blocked phone numbers on Android as it is to block a message thread or a phone number. In case you don’t know, here’s what you need to do:

How to see blocked phone numbers in the Phone app on Android

Step 1: Open the Phone app on your Android smartphone.
Step 2: Tap the three dots on the top right corner of the app.
Step 3: In the menu bar that appears, tap the Settings option.
Step 4: Now, tap the Blocked Numbers option.
Step 5: Here you will see all the numbers that are there in your list of Blocked people.
Step 6: You can also add a new number to the blocked list by typing it in the ‘Add a number’ option. You can also remove an existing number by tapping the ‘x’ mark option in front of the blocked number.

How to see blocked phone numbers in the Messages app on Android

Step 1: Open the Google Messages app on your Android smartphone.
Step 2: Tap the three dots in the upper right corner of the app.
Step 3: In the menu that appears, tap the Spam and Blocked option.
Step 4: Now you will see all the chat threads that you have blocked on your Android phone. Tap the Unblock option at the bottom of the chat thread to remove it from the blocked list.

How to see blocked phone numbers in the Contacts app on Android

Step 1: Open the Contacts app on your Android smartphone.
Step 2: Tap the ‘Fix and Manage’ tab option at the bottom of the app.
Step 3: In the menu that appears tap the Blocked Numbers option.
Step 4: Now you will a list of all the numbers that you have blocked on your device. Now, you can either add or remove a number from the list of Blocked numbers.
