Sony has announced the free PlayStation Plus games for August 2025, and the lineup is packed with action, survival, and anime-style fighting. The three new titles – Lies of P, DayZ, and My Hero One’s Justice 2 – will be available to PS Plus subscribers from August 5. All games can be accessed by members across the Essential, Extra, and Deluxe/ Premium PS Plus tiers. Also Read: PS6 Leak: Sony PlayStation 6 May Get Detachable Disc Drive

The first up in the list is Lies of P, the critically acclaimed Soulslike action-RPG developed by Korean studio Neowiz and Round8. Released in 2023, the game offers a dark twist on the classic Pinocchio story. Players step into the shoes of the puppet-turned-warrior in the haunted city of Krat. Lies of P delivers a gripping and challenging experience with its brutal boss fights and eerie Belle Époque-inspired visuals. In June, the game also received an Overture expansion, which serves as a prequel to the main storyline. Both PS4 and PS5 players will be able to dive into this dark adventure as part of their PS Plus subscription.
Survival fans can look forward to DayZ, the multiplayer open-world title set during a deadly zombie outbreak. Originally a mod for Arma 2, DayZ drops up to 60 players into a post-apocalyptic map where they must scavenge food, weapons, medicine, and gear to stay alive.
If you die, you lose everything and have to start over. The game also includes mechanics like cooking, hunting, and driving, adding realism to the gameplay. DayZ is available on PS4 and playable on PS5 through backward compatibility.
The final title in the PS Plus August lineup is My Hero One’s Justice 2, a fast-paced arena fighting game from Bandai Namco. The game is based on the My Hero Academia anime. It includes a roster of beloved characters and builds on the 2018 original with new moves and story arcs. It’s a must-play for fans of the manga and anime series, and will be available on PS4.
Sony is also giving out free avatars from various popular titles to PS Plus members this month. Meanwhile, July’s games – Diablo IV, The King of Fighters XV, and Jusant – will remain available until August 4.
