Genshin Impact 4.6 update released: New character, quests, and more

Hoyoverse has released the Genshin Impact 4.6 update after a brief maintenance countdown. The update’s Phase I brings a new character including Arlecchino, also confirmed by the banner previously. Players will also see more characters in the Phase 2. Additionally, there’s a new boss added to the game named The Knave. There are some updates to the Fontaine area, a couple of new Artifact sets, and more. Let’s take a look at the details.

How to install Genshin Impact 4.6 update

Earlier, Hoyoverse released a pre-installation function for the Genshin Impact 4.6 update on PC and Mobile to allow players to access the new version more quickly. It was sized 9.53GB. Those who pre-installed the resources can already access the latest version.

Those who did not can download the update from the Google Play Store on Android and from the App Store on iOS. To do that, search for the game in the search bar and you should see the game. Tap on it to open the product page. Lastly, tap on the update button to install the latest update.

PC players can open the Genshin Impact Launcher and click Update to install it. PS5 and PS4 console players need to select the game on the home screen and press on OPTIONS button, followed by clicking on Check for Update. Tap on update to install it.

Once you install the update, open the game and let it apply all the changes required. After the internal update is done on mobile, you can enjoy the 4.6 update. But what does this update bring?

What’s new?

There are several changes in the update. Starting with characters, there’s a new character dubbed Arlecchino that you can access in the Character Archives. Arlecchino is a 5-Star Pyro Character who carries the Polearm weapon. She is available right now in Phase I. More characters like Lyney, Wanderer, and Baizhu are expected to be accessible later. However, you can still see them in the Character archives after updating to version 4.6.

Furthermore, there are new events such as “Iridescent Arataki Rockin for Life Tour de Force of Awesomeness.” New main story quests have also been added like the Arlecchino’s Story Quest – Ignis Purgatorius Chapter: Act I “When the Hearth-Flame Goes Out.”

New locations have been added to the Fontaine area like the Nostoi Region and the Sea of Bydone Eras. The update also brings the Bayda Harbor subarea in Lokaapala Jungle in Sumeru. There are also new weapons like Crimson Moon’s Semblance (a 5-Star Polearm). There’s also a new Domain – Faded Theatre.

There are two new accessible Artificacts such as Fragment of Harmonic Whimsy (4-Star and 5-Star) and Unfinished Reverie (4-Star and 5-Star). Not to forget, there’s a new boss – The Knave, who will apply Bond of Life to characters. Interestingly, The Knave’s attack will consume her own HP, but when they hit a character, her HP will be restored.
