OnePlus Nord CE 4 just arrived as one of the most appealing phones in India’s mid-range segment. It is the fourth phone in the Nord CE series, bringing a new design and features that theoretically make the cut for the price it sells. Someone who has the older OnePlus Nord CE 3 will particularly consider the Nord 4 should they want to upgrade. But is the new OnePlus Nord CE 4 worth buying if you have the Nord 3? Check out the difference between the specifications of the Nord 4 and Nord 3.
While the OnePlus Nord CE 4’s display is the same size as the Nord CE 3’s at 6.7 inches, its panel has better brightness. But that is the only important change in the display. The rest of the display specifications, such as the Fluid AMOLED panel with up to 120Hz refresh rate, Full-HD+ resolution, and support for HDR10+ are the same.
The Nord CE 4 should offer a significant jump in performance if you are coming from the Nord CE 3. That is because it uses the latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, which is based on a 4nm fabrication process as compared with the 6nm Snapdragon 782G chipset. There is support for 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of RAM on the Nord CE 4. But customers looking for 12GB of RAM in the Nord CE 4 will be disappointed.
There is a minor difference between the cameras on the Nord 4 and Nord 3. Instead of three sensors on the back, the Nord 4 features just two: a 50MP wide sensor with support for optical image stabilisation and an 8MP ultrawide sensor with a field of view of 112 degrees. The Nord CE 3 came with a 50MP main, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro camera on the back. The selfie camera has remained the same as before, though. The OnePlus Nord CE 4 borrows the 16MP camera from its previous generation.
If you want to upgrade from the Nord CE 3 because of its underwhelming battery backup, the Nord CE 4 can be a good option. The latter features a 5500mAh battery as compared with the 5000mAh battery in the last generation. The new phone also has 100W fast charging, which is marginally better than 80W charging on the Nord CE 3.
If you want your next phone to have a better battery backup and faster performance, the OnePlus Nord CE 4 is a good choice, especially when it is available for the same price as the predecessor. OnePlus will also give customers good exchange value on the Nord CE 3.
