Oh Nothing! The excitement all around the world was so high for the third iteration of the Nothing Phone series. After all the leaks and rumours going around on the internet for the past couple of months, the Nothing Phone 3 has finally made it to the market. And it did impress. The replacement of Glyph lights with the Glyph Matrix, a mini display-like addition at the back, which seems really fun, takes the Nothing Phone 3’s design to a notch higher. But again, haven’t we seen such a matrix display with the Asus ROG phones? Also Read: Samsung Galaxy S25 FE India Price Leaked: Here’s How Much It May Cost
But how Nothing ensured to keep it different is the addition of the Glyph Button at the back to offer quick access to interactive elements of the Matrix. Nothing ditched the fancy LED light strips in favour of this Matrix to let it be useful to have a quick glance at the weather, battery levels, stopwatch, and some fun games like rock-paper-scissors and spin the bottle. Some may disagree, but these small fun elements do actually make a big difference to the overall design of the phone. But is it all about the design?
Nothing’s CEO Carl Pei has claimed it to be the “true flagship” of the company. Well, if we look at the upgrades from its predecessor, then the Nothing Phone 3 does bring several upgrades. To keep it in the flagship range, Nothing priced it at Rs 79,999 ($799) but it seems like it missed packing the latest chipset!
The Nothing Phone 3 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. At this price, Apple has the iPhone 16 with an A18 chipset, and Samsung Galaxy S25 with a much powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The OnePlus 13 even packs the Snapdragon 8 Elite at a much lower price. We understand that the chipset is not everything but when you’re spending a premium, performance expectations naturally rise. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is certainly capable, but it’s still a notch below the flagship-tier processors.
So, is it flagship killer or not, that we will know after the full review of the Nothing Phone 3 with full test but it seems like with the spec sheet and price that Nothing Phone 3 truly beats the flagship phones like iPhone 16, Samsung Galaxy S25 and iPhone 16 — but only in price!
Note: This is not a comparison between the flagship smartphones, but a quick price comparison based on the specifications.
