Editing is getting simpler day by day. Thanks to AI. To make it possible, Google Photos has announced a new feature, which will let you edit your images simply by asking. All you have to do is simply describe what changes you want to make in the image by text or voice, and just wait for the changes to appear.

“To further improve transparency around AI edits, we’re adding support for C2PA Content Credentials in Google Photos,” Google said in a blog post. These credentials act like a digital label that shows whether an image was captured directly or AI-edited. How does it work?

How Conversational Editing Works

With this update, you no longer need to spend time figuring out which tool to use. Just type or say what you want, for example, “remove the cars in the background” or “brighten the face.” Google Photos will understand your request and apply the right changes automatically.

It also works with multiple edits in a single go. You could ask, “remove the reflections and fix the washed-out colours,” and the editor will combine those adjustments instantly. If you’re unsure where to start, even a simple prompt like “make it better” will give you AI-powered suggestions that you can fine-tune later with follow-up instructions.

This feature isn’t limited to correcting distractions or adjusting lighting. You can also get creative with it. For example, you can ask to change the background or add fun elements such as sunglasses, birds in the sky, and many more.

Who And When Will You Get It?

Google has revealed that the latest Pixel 10 devices, the standard Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, will be the first to add support for C2PA Content Credentials inside the native camera app. That means the Pixel 10 series users will get this latest photo editing feature first.

Over the coming weeks, this feature will also roll out to Google Photos on both Android and iOS, the blog post mentioned.
