OpenAI Launches Sora, Its AI Video Generation Tool

OpenAI launched its AI video generation tool named ‘Sora’. The company unveiled its highly-anticipated video generator to the public with a high amount of AI tools that will enhance user’s video content experience. The AI video generator works similarly to DALL-E, which is the company’s AI image generator tool. Just like DALL-E generates images based on the user’s question or desired scene. Similarly, Sora will generate videos based on user’s requirements. You can give a scene or explain a bit of a story and it will come up with high-definition videos based on your requirements.

Additionally, the video generation tool will also be able to create extended videos based on still images and it will also fill gaps in the missing frames. As per OPENAI, the SORA has started debuting in the US as well as in other countries from Monday and there’s no fixed timeline for when it will be made available for European and UK users.

The tool will be added to the existing ChatGPT account for Plus and Pro members and they don’t have to pay extra for it. However, normal users will have to switch to a Pro or Plus account to take benefit from SORA. With a pro plan users can create longer videos too at the highest resolution of 1080p. There’s another version of SORA SORA TURBO which is a standalone product and is available at Sora.com and can only be accessed by ChatGPT Plus and Pro users. It was released as part of OPENAI’s 12 days of OPENAI holiday PR push.

Users can also upload their “own assets to extend, remix, and blend, or generate entirely new content from text.” You will also be able to create videos up to 20 seconds long on widescreen with a vertical or square aspect ratio. The company has developed new interfaces on SORA which makes it easier for users to prompt the AI video generation tool with text, images, and videos.
