Elon Musk’s Grok Imagine Video Generation tool has been in the headlines for several reasons. No, it is not just about the capabilities to convert text or image into a video, but the wild “spicy mode” feature. Why is it controversial? This is because of the tendency of Grok Imagine’s Spicy Mode to create NSFC content, including the deepfakes of celebrities. Now, Elon Musk has announced that the Grok Imagine Video Generation tool is available on Android too. It is already available online to access image and video generation tools via the websites. Also Read: Elon Musk's X Launches XChat For All Users With Security Features And New Tools
The text-to-video or image-to-video is a common tool for both features. The Grok Imagine comes with different modes, such as Fast Mode to quickly make a short 5-second or 8-second video in 720p and 1080p quality. Apart from this, it also comes with Normal Mode, Fun Mode, and, as mentioned earlier, the Spicy Mode. It is powered by xAI’s Aurora engine to generate short videos. Here is a catch! Elon Musk’s Grok Imagine is still in beta version and available only to SuperGrok users. That means you will have to pay to access this AI video generation tool.
For quick reference, know that the Grok Plus subscription offers 8000 credits to create videos for max 8 seconds each. It costs $39.9 per month or $33.5 per month while opting for the yearly subscription.
On the other hand, Grok Pro subscription brings 18,000 credits at $79.9 per month, while the yearly subscription will let you settle it for just $66.5 per month.
If you are excited to try out this new AI video general tool by Elon Musk’s xAI, then know first that the model is still working in the beta version, and the results for people and their skin are more towards the cartoonish side. Simply, it has a long way to generate most realistic videos like Google’s Veo 3 or OpenAI’s Sora. Still, Elon Musk suggests that Grok Imagine will get better with time.
